No, not much room for multis in there. They really need a minimum of 10 gallons. A much better choice would be brevis. A pair would be a good thing to start with in a tank that size.

I must disagree. The brevis get larger and they need more room than the multis. I have bred multis in a 5 gal before without any problems.

Just be sure to do your water changes, and watch for an overload of fish, as a pair will breed and they are great parents. Often times you will see 3, 4, and even more generations living together in harmony. Just be ready to have another tank for the babies as they grow, or at least somewhere you can trade them.
