I bought my first tank about 6 months ago, and thanks to your help, I've had no deaths to date. It's a 55g, (current stock, 10 Leopard Danios, 3 Silver Dollars, 4 Clown Loach, 1 Powder Blue Gourami) I don't know if thats good, but I feel cool ![]() I do testing for almost everything weekly (kinda nerdy, hu? I love that stuf though.) Well, now to my question, I just bought a 60g hexagon tank and stand for $150.(Feeling cool again!) My little brother and I have wanted Angelfish for quite some time, but aren't quite sure how to go about it. We know at least one Angel has to be there, but how many is best, what would go best with them, and I would also like to have sand, not gravel. Any help suggestions be welcome, I hope you all understand the question. Thanks in advance. |

Once its cycled, that is if you plan to do a fishless cycle start stocking slowly. Its better to have more than one fish in a large tank like that. That can get up to 6 inches so use the adult size when stocking. It is not uncommon for properly cared for veil angelfish to reach 12" or more from the top of the dorsal to the tip of the anal fin.It is better to keep a pair for every 15 gallons, 25 even better. So if you like to start a pair, that would be great. I would also have live plants for angels. Vesicularia dubyana (Java Moss), Ceratopteris (Water Sprite) and Microsorium (Polypodium pteropus or Java Fern) are all compatible live aquatic plants. As for substrate I would choose sand over gravel. [span class="edited"][Edited by JTF 2004-07-17 19:49][/span] JTF attached this image: [img]http://www.fishprofiles.net/attachments/398372.jpg"] |
