Hi,
Iam going to have 2 Zebra plecos and panda corys, black skirts and barbs in my 74g tank.
What kind of cichlids will be the best to buy?
Thanks,
Robby

I know human beings and fish can co-exist peacefully.

Keyhole cichlids are good, of course small cichlids that wont eat your fish. Maybe a yellow dwarf cichlid or a rainbow, depending on the size of your tank.

I agree with the above that keyholes would be one of the best as they are some of the more "peaceful" typ cichlids.

What type of barbs are you getting?

You could get angels, festivum, Laetacara curviceps or L. dorsigera, rainbows, rams (either type), or of course keyholes. Many people, including myself, have found severums, blue acaras, and firemouths to be peaceful; I've kept both in community tanks.

i say go with severums, angels or festivums. they are peacful with the size fish you have and get a little bigger than keyholes, if a little bigger is what you want.

As long as you have small caves for shelter, you could try any of the Apistogramma's, or another choice would be Bolivian Butterfly's ( these are a very pretty fish ). If you want something a bit more agressive you could try Neematopas Neetropolus, but don't let them breeed or they will attack anything on site.

Yes, severums are peaceful, but don't mistake them for a good fish to put with small community fish. If they other fish are small enough to fit in the severums mouth, you can pretty much kiss them goodbye...

you could get a single firemouth.
whatever cichlid you settle on, however docile they are in general, are likely to cause problems in a tank with small bottom-dwellers if you allow them to breed.
other ciclids whihc might work are sajicas, festivum or some of the smallerr geophagus species
