Since you have rainbowfish and gouramis, there will be a lot of surface action. Instead, I'd cut the gouramis, and add a few more loaches. That way, the rainbowfish will have the top to themselves, and the loaches will have more company. ![]() Plus, gold gouramis *allegedly* can be aggressive towards other gouramis, themselves included. I wouldn't take the risk of aggression in that otherwise peaceful tank. ![]() |

If it were my tank i would try to get a pair or two of dwarf gouramis. They have way better color and are a bit more peaceful i think. |

And yes, the golds can be agressive, but will only pick on some fish and leave others alone. There alright fish but I dont like the way they look like I did back when I got them. I dont know, I just got board with them. If you dont go with them you could try the less common gouromies, like the pygmy or spike tail. They are smaller too, like 1"-2". |
