so far i like cyno afra, pseu acei, johanii, blue zebra, bb zebra , pseu elongatus, labeo trewavasae, fulleborni, lab mbamba bay, auratus

just the ones i have seen in books that caught my eye. any other suggestions would be welcome.

You are off to a good start with the yellows. I would definately add a school of Acei and either blue Zebras OR Afra just because they are both blue. Maybe something red to finish it off... or black, Crabros are cool and they are black. Add some synos or clown loaches for the bottom and a couple Bristlenose and it's off to the races.

if you are getting a 125g then if you wanted them you could get some haps in there like cyrtocara morri(malawi blue dolphin) ect.
or you could just go with your first idea either way you will have a nice tank

I would keep larger haps in the bigger tank too.... C. Moori, N. Venestus... maybe some type of Aulonocara as well. Try to keep one male with three or four females and you could probably have 4 - 5 different Genus' in there

The german red peacocks are awesome fish. Becarefull of the auratus, they have a nasty aggressive side to them. Pick out a smaller one if you decide on it. Mine likes to pick on other mbunas

30g Lots of rocks and caves
aquaclear 200 and fluval 2 plus filters
1 German red peacock
1 blood red jewel
1 auratus
1 pseudo demasoni

Malawi Freak -- Jocobusburg? I've never heard of that variety of Aulonocara. Do you possibly mean Jacobfreibergi?
