i was wondering if a green terror, jack demspey and a convict could live together peacefully in a 6x2x2 tank. if i raise them together from a young age like an inch or so? and maybe a pleco or some other catfish for the bottom. thanx

If acquired under an inch, plenty of hiding space and well fed, maybe for a few months. It does depend on the individuals also. I once had a convict male that was a true pussycat, but don't be surprised if the Dempsey ends up vertical in a corner and the other two keep shredded fins...

in that size tank those 3 fish should be fine. I'd add some dithers like a medium sized rainbow, giant danios or silver dollars.

mine has been with my oscar (who is slightly larger) and my geophagus and 6 giant danions and i have had no problems at all, they have been together for about 5 months now. the oscar chasses the gt a little and the gt chasses the geo. a little but no harm done.

I have one in a tank with a Convict, a Texas and a Salvini. I have no idea about Jack Dempseys though. My GT is about 7 inches, and the other fish are just over 4. He was the last addition to the tank and is doing quite well.

I have a Jack Dempsey, Jagaur juvie 4 inches, 2 male convicts, 2 plecos, 3 silverdollars they have all been together for over a year and all but the jag for over two years.

I would say you will be ok with what you want

good luck

Joe

The difference between 'involvement' and 'commitment' is like an bacon and egg breakfast: the chicken was 'involved' - the pig was 'committed'."
