Okay. I have (somewhat) stocked my 46g. I have room to add 1 or 2 more fish comfortably.

My current stock is this:
1x Albino Zebra African Chichlid (M)
1x Ice-Blue Zebra African Chichlid (M)
1x Slender Mbuna (still on the small side, may turn out to be a Zebra)
1x Rubber-lipped pleco

I would like to add one or two females to the mix, or a yellow peacock. Which would be the better choice? Should I stick with an all male tank? I wouldn't mind haveing fry....

Females would be a good idea, but just make sure you get at least two females for every male, and I would put in lots of rocks for hiding/breeding.

Would that overstock me? I have 2x Males and 1x ?, so I'd need to add 4.

I think that it would be alright, providing you do regular water changes. But having lots of hiding places are very important.
