Hi everyone, after recently restocking my tank, I feel as tho there is maaybe room for 1-2 more fish. Currently the tank has: 2 Red forest jewels, 3 Venestus, 1 Cobalt Zebra, 2 Tangerine Zebras, and 3 clown loaches. I was thinking of adding a Hongi or a male Electric Blue. I am open to suggestions. Its a 4ft tank with 2 Fluval 304's running and a 1500l/ph power head.

Thanks.

*N.B. I am aware of how big Venestus grow, and how fast they grow. So before anyone starts flaming me about over stocking, when my 6ft tank is ready and when they Venestus are big enough, they are going into that tank.

metal_Blasko,
I would recommend going with the Hongi as the electric blue maybe a little fragile (especially with that Cobalt and that nice big Jewel).
Also I would recommend that you take those Venustus out soon as possible, as they will get too big for that tank and they also have different diet requirements.

electric blues arnt that fragile... they grow larger than jewels and would most probly show any zeeb whos boss. i rescued a electric blue from a poor lfs and put it in my 90g with two juvi salvinis, sajicas, a juvinile synspilum and two jds and it has claimed a good quarter of the tank. now those fish are all bigger and meaner than any jewl or zeeb and hes just fine holding his own from any chalengers.

ps. his has clashed with the little synspilum as he is his main rival and i will hav to move him because as the synspilum grows i am sure the tables will turn very quickly.

there are plenty of cichlid breeders around under the woodwork if u have a look! you can pick up excellent fish from them at a fraction of the cost!
