I have decided on the stock for my 75 gallon tank:
- 6 Duboisi ccihlids
- 6 Yellow labs
- 2 Frontosa ( i know I'll have to move them when they get big ).

what i would suggest is not gettin Frontosa's for the 75g wait till yah can get maybe a 125g+ then get 4 - 5 of them

that way u can increase numbers of fish in the 75g:

12 yellow labs
12 duboisi

u may be able to up the numbers but it is upto u though

good luck

i wouldnt mix the duboisi with the yellow labs. first of all, the colony of tropheus is too small to really have a chance of making it long term. mixing them with an omnivorous mbuna is a very, very risky proposition at the least. save your money & your fish. i would either go with at least 20 duboisi as a species tank, or go with a mbuna tank. i wouldnt put the fronts in with any of the fish you mentioned as the dietary requirements are so vastly different even if you were just trying to grow them up.

Acei is right. This is not a recipe for success. The carnivorous Frontosa SHOULD NOT be kept with the strictly herbivorous Tropheus. Tropheus need very high numbers for success, and because of their absolutely strict diet (they are known for bloat at the slightest misstep in care), they are best kept in large species tanks.

The relative hyper-activeness of both the Tropheus and Labs make the poor tankmates to Fronts as well. Tankmates for Fronts on any permanent basis should preferably be a Tanganyikan fish of similar temperement/diet, as well as cannot fit in the Front's mouth. A. Calvus and A. Compressiceps are usually good choices as tankmates for this reason.

I suggest that you start out with no more than three Yellow Labs (one male and two females if you can tell the difference). I started out with four, 2 female and 2 male, with about 5 or 6 other Mbuma species (no pairs), a pleco and 9 Ruby Tetras. One year later, I now have more than 12 labs and they are very aggressive towards each other, but don't bother the rest of the fish too much. One of the females has a mouthfull of babies right now, too! They are relentless breeders. I have to admit though that it has been fun watching them breed and seeing the babies grow, and it sounds like your tank is big enough to support it. Just include other fish of a different species to take some of the heat off of the Labs who are being bullied.
