I have an aggressive female in my 55g tank and she spends her day chasing and nipping my other cichlids around the tank even when they are hiding...

any suggestions as to what i can do with her ? is there a way to 'tame' aggressive fish? she is quite big
none of my LFS will take fish and i cant afford to set up another tank....

What are the tankmates & maybe you can make more hiding places & arrange the decorations & rocks.

Best to move her out in anyway you can or deaths will likely. Some electric yellow are really aggressive, mine doesn't start fight and is fine with the other peacocks and haps but the others have respect for him.

Have you tried a tank divider for temporary solution?

Also try taking almost every single rock out. Get rid of the caves. Make a rock pile of a just a few of the bigger ones in the middle with no really big opening or caves in the pile. Try it.
Always with a cichlid it is important to have an back-up tank incase of disease, fight, islotaion needs. Doesn't have to be a big tank, maybe just a big plastic storage bin.
