They're very agressive with each other. For a while they just were flaring and posturing at each other, but now one has claimed dominance and won't leave the other one alone. I was wondering if I should get rid of the sub-dominant ram. Would a ram be ok by itself. I could try to get a female ram maybe. |

The thing with rams is that while they generally leave tankmates alone, they "interact" with each other a lot, and fighting is a part of interacting. Males will fight and mock-fight a lot, and sometimes a ram that always comes out on top will become a sore winner. You're saying that the dominant ram won't leave the weaker one alone? In that case, it may be a good idea to return the weak ram. Continual pestering will stress out the ram, and can leave it susceptible to disease. If you do get a female, try to get one at least the same size as the male. That will lower the chance of the overzealous male ram bothering the gal non |
