i have a "pair" of albino kribs i think it my be a male and a female, but it is really hard to tell. The one I think is the male gets its purple are purple when it incounters the other krib. The other krib is a little slimmer, smaller and less colorful. So i don't know what i got here. Anyway when they get close to each other the one i think could be a male starts shaking, and they both light up. Sometimes he/she goes to the flowerpot and waits. The other one is a little afraid. Can you tell me if i got a pair or if they are the same sex and are fighting other territory? Btw i got some pics of them: http://photobucket.com/albums/v691/highvesman/Albino%20Kribs/

It's tough to tell. On the kribs I have The males fins are longe and the females shorter than either of yours. Yours look the same to me but there are a couple species of Kribs. The ones I'm used to are Pelvicachromis Pulcher. Also I'm not really sure about color on albinos. The female usually has much more purple.

Their behavior suggests a pair, along with only one getting purple. As long as they are not injuring one another, I'd let them be and wait and see.

Have fun, Mike

thanks! But the one most people think is a male is acting like a female, and the "female" is acting the male. The "male" has a pointed tail and an extened dorsal fin.

The one that gets the purple is probably the female. Does the one with the extended dorsal get purple?

I'd wait and see. Get a nice cave for them, I used a flower pot with the hole in the bottom enlarged and covered the big end with a saucer.

Good luck, Mike
