I need to move my 2 angels into my 25g or return them to the LFS.

I would like to keep them if possible but I'm not sure if they will be peaceful tank mates. In my tank I have 6 black widow Tetras & 4 platys. I have read a few conflicting reports on whether angels and platys are compatible. My platys seem quite placid - spend most of the time chilling out or chasing each other.

What do you think?

Thanks

What size tank are they in? I don't think you should have any compatibility problems. I would thou consider adding a couple more angels(if the tank is large enough)as this way they will be least likely to pick on any other fish.

I would just take them back now. A 25 gallon is to small for a perminant home. That way when you get a bigger tank you can get angels then. That is if you still want them. But take it from somebody that has gone threw it already, angels don't do well when cramped.

I some how managed to misunderstand what you had written. I thought they were going from a 25 gallon into possibly a larger tank. 25 gallons is really pushing it to the bare minimum in how large of a tank angels should be in. So, I'd have to agree your probably best just to return them to your LFS and hey possibly get some nice fish that will do well in a 25 gallon tank.

A good size tank would probably be at least 40 gallons.

A 29 gallon tank is really the minimum for a pair of angels. It has the height necessary to meet the requirements of angels.
