I am thinking of getting an angel to go in my 28 gallon tank. It is not set up yet and I do not know what to put with it. I really want 2 lace gouramis, are they compatible with angels? Does anyone have any tank ideas with an angel in it? I was thinking of maybe:
2 lace gouramis
1 angelfish
4 panda corys
4 julii corys
8 rummy nose tetras
Would this be ok?
I have an aquaclear 200 filter.

Thankyou very much,

Labrakitty

You list looks OK, with the exception; I would not add the angels and the gouramis. As these fish both get rather large, and will be competing for the same area to swim in. IMO, get either two angels, or two gouramis.

Well, you're going to be told that the Cories need to be in schools of at least 6.

I've got Angels in with a Blue and a Gold Gourami so, I think you're all right there.

I think you should probably go with 1 school of Cories until you see how your water quality holds up. Then, add another school if it's all good. If you add another school you'll be on the edge of overstocked though.

Have fun, Mike

Edit, My gouramis and Angels are in a 29 and they've got plenty of room.

I have a book on catfish written by an expert taht says they don't mind what type of corys there are as long as they are corys. It says you can even have a school of six corys, with one of each different type. So would this be ok?
1 lace gourami-female(would it be ok on its own or should I get 2?)
1 angel (will it be ok?)
4 panda corys
4 julii corys
8 rummy nose tetras
Apart from the corys fact would everything else be ok?

Tahnkyou so much!

Looks good to me. I don't think gouramis need to be in pairs.

Would the angelfish compete with the pearl gourami? or would they avoid each other? So this would be ok:
1 lace goourami
1 angel
4 panda corys
4 julii corys
8 rummy nsoe tetras

Tahnkyou!

IME Angels and gouramis ignore each other.
