	Angelfish colors
CancerMan Small Fry Posts: 14 Kudos: 12 Votes: 28 Registered: 16-Aug-2005	I recently got an angelfish, silver with some black finnage and a black stripe across the eyes. I don't know the different names for the different patterns, but what struck me was how the fins seem to "change" colors. Is this normal for angelfish? The fins seem to be complete black one minute, then the next almost transparent, with a silver that matches the body. The only areas that remain black are the eyes and the base of the caudal fin. It's very curious.

RustyBlade Mega Fish Posts: 987 Kudos: 1667 Votes: 391 Registered: 23-Apr-2003	I think angelfish prove that they belong to the cichlid family by their colours changing to match their mood I know mine do. The black stripes on one of mine become very vibrant when she's trying to attract her mate when she's ready to breed and she goes very pale when she's stressed and unhappy. She also gets very dark and "large" when she's trying to chase away other fish from her eggs as well.
