How do you know if your angelfish have paired, i have 2 angelfish and they swim together alot but they are also young ones 3 inches long the other is around 2 inches. will they display any special behaviour to each other if they have paired?

If they were paired, they would be laying eggs.

I think that 3" anglefish are a little too young to be paired

That's not necessarily true. A two or three inch angel might be large/old enough to have matured. That will depend on the fish.
Paired angelfish that are ready to spawn will choose a site, and then proceed to clean it very thoroughly over a few days. The fish should spawn very soon after that.
If you do indeed have a mature pair of angelfish, watch for the 'cleaning' behavior, and see if they tend to hover around a certain spot. That might help you tell if they are a real pair.
