hey i have a couple of angels in a community tank with a few rams, rummynose tetra, a couple of plecos and a few corys. the angel fish spawned on saterday and the angels were taking it in turns guarding and fanning, however all the eggs were cleaned up by sunday. i know that in such a community eggs will be considered a delicacy and wont last long (cavier compared to fishfood!) but i was wondering about if it would be possible to partition off a section of the tank if it happens again to see if we can at least hatch the eggs and was wandering what would be a suitable material to use? we were thinking powder coated aluminium fly screen would be inert and allow flow for filtration- what do you think?

Congratulations!

I use plastic canvas as a DIY tank divider. Plastic canvas is used for knitting or sewing or something, and can be found cheaply at arts and crafts stores. There are instructions on various constructions online.

Of course, if your tank is small enough they might actually sell a tank divider for your size. I had to make my own since my tank is a 125 gallon, which is a lot larger than any of the tank dividers I see at the LFS.

You can cut the leaf with the eggs & transfer it to another tank & raise the fry yourself.
