Definitely not a 5g for an angel. Too big for that size tank and while it may look small now they grow fast. I've had the angel in my 30g for about 4 months now. Its body was maybe quarter-sized when I bought it, now it's a good 3" not including those very large fins.

Personally I'd say nothing smaller than a 29 or 30g, although maybe a 20g tall or similar would be ok. The general rule is to allow 10g per angel, but that's for larger tanks, it's not saying a 10g is ok for one alone.

Angelfish love tall tanks, but they need alot of swimming space aswell. If you are going to keep one I suggest a 55 gallon aquariumm although it not mandatory you could get away with a smaller tank.

If you put tetras in with the angel, he not only wouldn't be lonely, he also wouldn't be hungry ... neon tetras, anyway, are angels' natural prey.

Don't put the angel in a 5g. The sheer size of it alone would be cruel, not to say that they are shoaling fish.

Sounds like a koi angel, a very pretty fish if I might add. 20H would be the minimum size I'd say, with somethng more like a 29G or larger if this is the first time you've kept them.

If you're looking for a beautiful fish with some nice finnage for a 5G tank nothing beats a betta. Killies make another attractive choice for a tank that size.

If you want the angel , a 20 gallon would probably be the best for it, if not more. With just 1 angel and minimal amounts of tetras, the 20 would be fine.

If it was really $$, its a koi, if not, its probably a golden marblescale or golden pearlscale.

Don't be too sure about the cost factor of a Koi Angelfish... Before I reduced stock in my 55 gal, I had 2 Koi Angelfish - which I'd purchased at my lfs for about $10.00 (What they call Medium Size)......
