I've read on a few sites trying to figure out a stock list but can't get anything solid. I've read that it's not good to have two different species of peacocks together and it's not good to house mbuna with the haps. However, I've also read the contrary to both. For instance cichlid-forum.com suggested Pseudotropheus saulosi with Aulonocara stuartgranti (Ngara). ![]() So my question is what groups or species of malawi cichlids, compatible with the aulonocara species(I haven't decided on one specie yet) should I be researching to finish up my stocking list? Caeruleus "Electric Yellows" are really the only Mbuna that should be combined with peacocks...... ![]() I've kept Ps. Acei with Aul. as well but thats a bit risky... I would never think of keeping my Saulosi with any Aul. Species as their just to aggressive ![]() I say go with either Yellows or a Haplochromine species and keep say 5 of either of those with 6-8 Aul. Species ![]() Let us know what your reasearch turns up as well though ![]() |

I'll have to see whats available around my area too. This is almost as much a list for me (so I don't forget) as for everyone else, and is obviously not an actual stocking list. Just a few that I like from each group. I have no idea if I'll be able to actually find these fish. Some peacocks I like are: Aulonocara baenschi Aulonocara masoni Aulonocara stuartgranti (Rubescens) Aulonocara sp. "Stuartgranti Maleri" Some Haps I like are: Placidochromis sp. "Blue Otter" Placidochromis johnstoni Placidochromis milomo <-- though it gets larger Sciaenochromis fryeri Protomelas spilonotus Now I just need to figure out what the lfs normally has and proobably completely reconfigure my options ![]() Critical Fertilator: The Micromanager of Macronutrients |

I never really considered them till I started seeing some pics. Now my big male is my fav fish I have. You can mix 2 types of peacocks you just have to be careful. Here is an article about it.http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/mixing_peacocks.php |
