Today I cleared out a 29 and cleaned it. Then replaced a third of the water with reverse osmosis water to soften the tank water and lower the ph. The ph is at 7.0, down from 7.6. The hardness (our water is not especially hard here) will have to do because I don't have the proper electrolytes to add to r/o water. I added 2 tablespoons of aquarium salt to compensate. I'll have to make a trip to get the right stuff. Right now I have 8 dime size angelfish acclimating slowly by siphoning from the tank to their bucket with an airline and valve so it's only a drip. I'll use them to keep the bio-filter going. Have I forgotten anything? Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. THanks, Mike |
