These cichlids tend to be more territorial than aggressive, even while they're guarding a spawn. Rams often will bicker with each other and leave their tankmates alone, and the same applies to Apistogrammas. As long as the cichlids wouldn't be in a situation where they would come into constant conflict with each other, I feel that it would be just fine to keep Mikrogeophagus and Apistogramma together.
