I had a female krib that was stunning in colour but the terror of the tank. Bullying other cichlids. But it is a personality thing. Some will be fine. Have to test the waters so to speak.

Make sure you add on a day that you can be home to watch and that you can return the fish if it doesn't go well in the tank.

All the best for your research and subsequent decision.

I wouldnt reccomend Kribs to anyone myself.
My sister had a pair of kribs. They were killing neons first, then gouramis. One of the kribs died, leaving the female. Now not aggressive? I think not. It killed and devoured my sisters 50 cent peice size angelfish, and tried to take on her 4 inch weather loach, not to mention killed 1 aggassiz cory, 3 pepper corys, and a gold ram!!
These fish are NOT community fish. Kribs should be kept only with other african fish, not with fish from any other continent. You are asking for dead fish if you do so.
Just my experience.

Shaz:

I'm glad you found it useful. Don't thank me, though. Calilasseia is the one who wrote the article! Good luck finding one.

On your tetra question - angels won't eat all tetras, just small ones like neons. Anything that gets larger than about 2" and/or is deep-bodied, such as black skirts, should be safe.

No, I'm with you - knowing now what's in the tank, I wouldn't suggest the brevis either. That said, I've found them to be about as far from aggressive as any African can be - the angels are far more likely to harrass them than the other way around.

I have a community tank, and LOVE the colors of some cichlids, and i was wondering if theres any that could go into a community tank and get along with other fish, that are not agressive.

2 angels should be FINE in a 29. I'm not estatic about the Brevis, though. They require water parameters that are not favored by angels. Furthermore, although they're considered somewhat docile amongst Africans, they're still at least moderately aggressive in respect to most other fish (fin nipping?--perhaps). On the other hand, if they come in too small, the angels'll see them as a nice snack. Besides, they aren't exactly the most colorful of cichlids, anyways. If you're looking for a prime african community cichlid, go with kribs.

Check out this thread: http://www.fishprofiles.com/interactive/forums/thread.asp?id=44532. I think this might be an option that fits the bill for you.

That could be another problem. When i first boguht the tna koff someone the gravel came with it, but i did SW so i jsut stored the gravel. When I switched to FW i got the gravel back out, and I dont know if this is bad, but the some of the gravle bits are big, some are liek the size of a dime, but others are tiny, is this ok, sohuld i have gotten the fine gravel?

Edited to add: Is 'N Brevis' the full name of the fish?

Yeah, N. brevis would be a good fish if you had a sand or fine gravel substrate, as they like to dig. You would need to provide 2-3 shells per fish, though.

Well, what kind of community - how big, what other fish, what substrate, is it planted, etc?

Usually Kribs are suggested, but IMO brevis would work in the right community.
