I know I'm spelled aulounocara or whatever wrong... how's it spelled?

Anyway, when I was a stupid beignner, I thought all african cichlids could go together. Now I'm trying to get a new home for my aulunocara, 'cause he's getting beat up by the really aggressive fish.

My sister has a tank of psuedotropheus. Smaller than him, but not too small. Could they go together?

as long as the smaller one isn't small enough to get eaten, and as long as there is enough room. i've kept many cichlids of all sizes together and they've been fine so i'd say, go for it.

Which Psuedotropheus have you got?

Most of them are highly aggressive, and just because they are smaller does NOT mean they will not pick on the other fish. My Psuedotropheus Lombardio use to pick on my clown loaches (twice their size) and a Betta, before they where moved. Speaking to the owner of my good LFS, he said he use to keep 2 * half full size lombardio in a 10ft tank, with fish 2-3 times thier size, and the Lombardio controlled 7ft of the 10ft tank. They would attack ANYTHING that passed the invisble line at 7ft!

Guess the only way is to try it and see, but be warned that it might require close attention.

Oh, no, -I- have the lombardoi, not my sister Mean guys, aren't they? My one lombardoi took over half my tank for a while, NO ONE could get past it... I think he's let up on the restrictions recently though

She has.... I think...
P. Socolofi
Pseudotropheus sp.
P. Acei
Maylandia(red?) zebra (forgot the scientific name)
P. demasonii

The only species of Mbuna, which all the fish you've listed.... That can really be kept with Any AULONOCARA species are Labidochromis Caeruleus "electric Yellows"

The Diet and tank set-up are the first two points where they just don't fit but there are more not to mention aggression

Good Luck

Aulonocara! There it is! Thanks a bunches, he went to my sister's tank today (she lives in a different house). ...'cept he's acting kind of...weird... guess I'll make a post in the hospital forum.

EDIT: Oh, crap. He'll get picked on? I didn't read MR_CICHLID's post before doing it... I guess we can just wait a see. I'm not positive he is an aulonocara anymore, either...
