Before I did my weekly water change today in my 40 gallon tank that contains 1 male auratus and 1 synodontis lace catfish I checked the ph of the tank and discovered it to be at 6.8 having always been at 7.5. Both fish seem to be acting normal and are showing no signs of any stress or problems of any kind.
So my questions are What could have caused my drop in ph? and as long as the fish seem to not be having any problems should I be overly concerned with raising it backup?
Thanks for any help.

Do you have any wood in the tank. That would be the most obvious culprit. How often do you do water changes.

There's no wood in the tank and I do a 20 to 25% water change weekly.

Your water company could've changed something on you. I would ask them if they did anything.

Yeah that's probably what has happened. Luckily so far the drop in ph doesn't seem to be having any negative effects on them.
