Hey All,

I have a 37 gallon Eclispe System. It is 2 ft. in height (top to bottom), 30 inches long, & 1 ft. wide. Pretty good size and a real tall tank too. It also has a good, strong filtration too. Right now, this tank is occupied, but in the next month or so, it will be vacant. Thus the post.

I already have a 55gal. with 2 Jack Dempseys & another 55 gal. with 2 Red Tiger Oscars. I also have had many Angelfish (over the years), which I adore too. I am sorta looking to go for a Cichlid I haven`t owned/raised yet. I`d like to be able to get like 2 differant species (if possible) & I do like colorful fish - or "strong markings". I do know, I would like "easy to keep" kind & ones that "feed with flakes and/or pellets". I`m not as picky as I`m sounding either,LOL!!

So, what Cichlid(s) would you all recommend and how many of them? I was thinking a pair of Angels, but again - I want something I haven`t owned yet. I was also thinking some of the following: Electric Yellows, Blue Jewels, Firemouth, Bolivian Ram (can you have more than one of these?), Keyholes, Convicts, & T-Bar. Of course, Not all of them, just thinking about picking out of the list mentioned. Any suggestions or ideas?

Thanks ahead of time to all those that reply. I do appreciate it.

You could try a Malawi tank, although I'm not well versed on them, so I can't really help you there.

yeh i think kribs would be good as well, but they are not the best looking fish, i say electric yellow or maybe a male electric blue if you put some hiding places

You should take a look at one of the krib's relatives...Pelvicachromis taeniatus. there are several locale variants that are absolutely stunning. I recently picked up P. taeniatus 'wouri', but 'kienke', 'moliwa', 'dehane' are very nice as well.

Jason

ps. several of these are up for auction at http://www.aquabid.com under the Other Cichlids section.

Electric yellows are great, they're easy to find too. Maybe some Electric Blue Ahlis, those are stunning as well.

I think a pair of cons would be fun for you to keep. They are beautiful fish in my opinion, especially the females, and I think they would do very well in the tank you have described.
