The best way to determine the gender would be to vent a 5-7" specimen or to watch them either lay or fertilize eggs. Jason  |

| smnst Hobbyist Posts: 148 Kudos: 92 Votes: 0 Registered: 18-Feb-2003 | I had a pair not too long ago, the males develop red coloring on their belly, almost like a firemouth, and some red coloring on its back side. Other than that, the male will grow a lot faster than the female. |
