	Black convicts?
BeastKeeper Big Fish Posts: 444 Kudos: 389 Votes: 47 Registered: 27-Apr-2004	some lady come to my work (PetsMart) and said her black convicts had babies and she is trying to give them away. So i went and bought a 55usg(all ready had plans to anyway) and im going to pick them up next week. How many convicts could i put in this 55usg? the convicts are only 2"

Jason_R_S Moderator Posts: 2811 Kudos: 2421 Votes: 391 Registered: 18-Apr-2001	for a while you could keep quite a few in there...maybe 6-8 or even a few more. however, as they grow you'll definitely have to lower the numbers down to eventually 4 (2 pairs) or possibly even just 1 pair depending on how they get along. this is depending on if you want to keep pairs. if you go with all the same sex, you could keep 4-6 females or 2-4 males.

You might be able to have two pairs in there if you have enough things to make territorys and keep them from fighting. If you want to keep other fish with them i would try to get all females. Or just get a large group and as males appear take those to the lfs until you have just females left.
