personally, I wouldn't put anything that grows larger than 3-4" in a 20 long. Since blue acaras grow to 6"ish then no, I wouldn't put a blue acara in a 20 long. at least not for life. you could grow an acara or 2 up to 3-4" in a 20 long and then move it to a bigger tanks.

No, a blue acara wouldn't fit in a twenty long. As Jason said, they can grow to six inches or so. Six inches of fish can technically fit in a twenty long, but it cramps the fish. Forty gallons is the smallest tank I'd put a blue acara in, personally.

I'd love one of these fish, there are some juniors at the lfs at a very cheap price - I've got a 4' tank - but the downside is that it is well planted (don't think the plants would stay unmolested for long) and there are a lot of smaller neon sized fish in there.

Lovely fish though.

i have 2 and no neither could go permanent in my 20 long. i think that they get bigger than 6". mines about 4in and only a year old
