I haven't read anything about breeding them but I'd assume that like other cichlids they'd be protective... ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |

Requires a lot of tank space, a lot of time and a lot of patience. First step is getting a good strong male BJD. Once grown to maturity (not and easy task on it's own since most seem to be fairly fragile) you introduce a regular female JD. Hopefully you get a pair and have a successful spawn. You then have babies that look like regular JD's but they carry the Blue gene. Grow the babies to maturity and breed a female with the blue gene back to your blue male or ideally another blue male that isn't it's father. The other guy said it took him a year and half to complete this process and now has had his second successful spawn. Good luck! |
