Ok.. so here is the deal.
i have a blue acara breeding pair.. and they have bred about 5 times since i got them a while ago.. and they are about 5 inches.. but the deal is.. they havent bred for 2 months now.. and they dont eat that often.. and the other problem is.. they are in a 15 gallon temporarily..
So i was wondering... if i put them in a 44 gallon for now.. with a pair of juvenile breeding angels... a couple of flagtail catfish.. a pearl gourami.. and a couple of plecos.. would they be fine till they get a 33 gallon to them selves..
Would this work for a couple of months?!?!
thank you for your help!!

putting them in a 15 gallon more than likely stopped their breeding... Get them back into a larger tank and give them about a month and hopefully they may go back to breeding again. I dont see why that set up wouldnt work for a bit... But JUST A BIT...as that tank is filled quite a bit Hope this helps some!

72 gallon bowfront:Tanganyikan Lake set up
75 gallon: A. Baenschi trio,Cyanotilapia Afra Cobwe(4), copadichromis trewavase, protomelas sp. tangerine tiger(breeding pair)

I don't know if the blue acaras will put up with the angelfish. The blue acara I had was very agressive and almost killed my aequidens sp. "Green Terror". BTW, what happened to their own tank?

i have had to keep a pair blue acaras in with guppies and mollies (feeder fish tank). everything was fine untill the acaras decided they wanted to breed. then their was about 40 guppies in one corner of the tank and the acaras had the whole tank to them selves.

my acaras are kept in with firemouths and yes they have their complications. but once they know who's boss every thing settles down. and let me say the ruler of the tank is not a firemouth.

I have my blue acara pair in a 15G planted with 5 serpae tetras
Don't have a larger tank though.
I've noticed that the female's stomach has grown significantly larger lately.
Maybe they are breeding. So works fine for me, they do breed in a 15G.

P.S Please don't yell at me for putting them in a 15G in the first place.

I know that my acaras each have their own territories. Moving them has removed their "home", Once they are established in a permanent tank and claim their own territory again, I think you will see them become comfortable and start breeding again.
