Brian1216![]() Hobbyist Posts: 97 Votes: 0 Registered: 28-Apr-2005 ![]() ![]() | What are some good tankmates for a pair of Bolivian Rams? I have a 29 gallon tank with a PH of 7.5. I read the compatibility profile but i also wanted some of your opinions. Thanks. |

I also have a small angel in the tank at the moment. Everyone gets along quite well. "I am a believer in punctuality, though it makes me very lonely" EV Lucas |

Corydoras catfish are great tankmates as well, as are many Loricariid catfish. You'll be looking at the smaller Loricariids for that size tank. Other dwarf cichlids can be kept with the rams as well, you just need to make sure each fish has room for its own territory. Any breeding pair/harem that forms will want to "remove" the other cichlids from a good portion of the tank, and will engage in quite a bit of chasing. Be prepared for that if you go with more cichlids. |

I would put some tetras in there. Be careful with a 29 gal, the rams may take up some space so do your calculations to make sure you don't over stock. I've got a fever... and the only presc |

I had... 3 Bolivian Rams (i *think* a pair and a female that was left out) 7 Cardinal Tetras 7 Glowlight Tetras 1 Dwarf Gourami 6 Panda Cory's I didn't have many problems at all, the only problem I could find was the odd ram out was picked on a little bit, but nevertheless, stayed in the open and stayed friendly. The Panda Cory's weren't even noticed by my Rams ![]() Also, Bolivian rams do not get that big, only 2-3 inches at the most for Males and females are somewhat smaller.
