Can I breed my Jewel Cichlid on a 90 g tank with 3 aquatic turtles ? I have only 2 jewels (I think a female and a male) measuring 3 inches, they have a big place to hide and lay eggs where the turtles can´t reach.
Would be possible to breed then ?

I heard that jewel cichlids can breed very easily...
Hope so..

Jewel do breed easily but I would be worried about the turtles turning the fry into a late night snack.

really? ive had NO trouble breeding jewels and i always have heard they are easy to breed anyway. I suggest no to the turtles! they would kill your jewels and their babies!

No, I´ve been keeping my Jewels with my turtles for more than a year.. the turtles doesn´t mess with the fishes because Jewels are quite agressive, they eat togheter and stay peacefully in the tank... I have 3 turtles 2 Red eared sliders with 12 cm and 15 cm, and ther other one (7cm) is a similar specie called Trachemis Dorgbyni that is a natural specie from where I live (Brazil). I also have a pond at home and I will, as soon as I notice the Jewels breeding (by seeing the eggs or the babies) let the turtles live in the lake..

All I have to do is wait ?

When my jewels first mated I seperated the tank and raised the babies... Whn they got big enough to take the the LFS I gathered up 85 ... I kept five and sold the others for .25 cents a piece
