I have never bred them..but i would go about it by making sure the water quality is good and that the pH is high. I would also go with one male to maybe three females. Feed with high protein foods and do water changes atleast once a week.

I hope that helps

We've had Jewels that haven't really stopped breeding without even trying. They don't seem to be fussy finding a partner and now the original father is breeding with one of his female offspring, and that's been every 3 months with the fry too small to get rid of before they're breeding again
With a neutral to high ph and giving them places to hide with rocks I think you'll find that a male and female jewel will breed quite easily

I find my Jewels breed best when there is a bit more water movement than the normal whisper filter I use. I have a Marineland HOT that really move the water. I usually use it for a day on each tank to stir up the rubish on the bottom and filter it out. Every time I hang it on my Jewel tank, they breed.

I would say just put some jewels in a tank and they will do the rest My jewels have bred more times than I can count. The first time they bred I kept the fry and raised them until they were an inch or two. I pulled 85 of them out and took the the LFS. Only got .25 a piece Not really in demand. I have read that they are one of the easiest to breed. Good luck and watch out... The parents become VERY terretorial...
