I have a breeding pair of angels. They got so mean I had to move them to their own tank, a 29gl with 3 giant danios, 2 otos and a small chocolate pleco. Needless to say they have taken over this tank too. I have two other beautiful male angels in another tank. If I change out the males (switch the breeding male with one in the other tank) will the female breed with him or will the tank go back to be nice and normal(community tank vs. angelfish war zone)? I am not really interested in raising more angelfish.

Hi there

"I am not really interested in raising more angelfish"

The solution is simple.
Put your male from the 29 into the tank with the other males, and let the female stay in the 29g.

If you put another male in with her they will prob breed.

i am not sure, but what comes to mind, what about bonded pairs.

i am not very sure, but i would guess that if a bonded pair was broken they wouldn't breed aleast right away. or something like that, not sure though.

It was commonly believed that angels bond for life.
Often true if you leave the pair in the same tank.

However if you removed one of the pair and introduced another potential mate, IF they are compatible to each other they will form a new pair and spawn without issue.

The two other males I have are in a 55gl community tank. They too fight, but have come to a truce. One stays on the left side of the tank, and the other stays on the right. If I throw the other male in there... These are big guys. All the males have a body of 4"+. I don't want to get rid of anyone, but the pair is worse yet.
