absolutly not. the female may be placed alone in a 10g once holding to safetly spit them out when shes ready or stripped if thats how you chose to do it. but a 10g will not handle that many fish. you would need atleast a 20L for 4 of them to fit.

I agree, ten gallons is much too small for breeding these fish. Twenty nine gallons would be preferable (with more space being better, of course), but breeding can probably be accomplished in a twenty gallon.

I think that 20Gal. is big enough to breed the Elec. Yellows.
As Sin in Style said, the female may be placed alone in a 10Gal. once holding to safetly spit out the fry.

only cichlids small enough to be paired in a 10g tank would be apistogramma or rams. kribs will kill each other but those smaller will be ok.

A number of small shelldweller species (Africans from Lake Tanganyika) can happily live and breed in a ten gallon, including N. multifasciatus, N. brevis, N. similis, L. signatus, L. meleagris, L. ocellatus (which has a gold form not unlike Yellow Labs, but shinier), and a few others.
