Does anyone know about a brichardi cichlid? What can it be with, what is its diet, and what tank does it thrive in?

3 to 4 inches....alone its mildly agressive. if you plan to have a pair stick to species only. they are down right deadly when protecting fry.

do a google search on scientific name for lots of detailed info

Lamprologus Brichardi are best in with Tanganikan fish that can look after themselves.
They can 'fin nip' and will often colonise up to 3 feet of a tank when breeding.
They thrive in hard water and mine love coral rock as it is brilliant for the fry to hide in.
I have a colony of 23 1-2 inch fry that I've reared living with a 6 inch female Tropheus Bemba Orange Flame and a Synodontis Robbianus in a 48x24x24 tank with a coral sand base and a couple of rock caves.
They love newly hatched brine shrimp, frozen bloodworm (which they can't have because its deadly to Tropheus) and flake.

I keep my N.Brichardi on their own & in a water ph of 7.5.
They eat most type of foods, expecially sinking pellets that i feed my Corydoras & really love some Bloodworms occationatly. I don't think it's good to mix them with others, especially if the are going to breed, as they become very territorial & will nip other fish. I leave the fry with their parents & they take care of other smaller fry aswell. They need lots of hiding places & rocks.
