They can 'fin nip' and will often colonise up to 3 feet of a tank when breeding. They thrive in hard water and mine love coral rock as it is brilliant for the fry to hide in. I have a colony of 23 1-2 inch fry that I've reared living with a 6 inch female Tropheus Bemba Orange Flame and a Synodontis Robbianus in a 48x24x24 tank with a coral sand ba They love newly hatched brine shrimp, frozen bloodworm (which they can't have because its deadly to Tropheus) and flake. |

They eat most type of foods, expecially sinking pellets that i feed my Corydoras & really love some Bloodworms occationatly. I don't think it's good to mix them with others, especially if the are going to breed, as they become very territorial & will nip other fish. I leave the fry with their parents & they take care of other smaller fry aswell. They need lots of hiding places & rocks. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.deathbydyeing.org/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |
