![]() | Can I keep an oscar with a Texas? |

betahex![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Fish Addict Posts: 864 Kudos: 352 Votes: 0 Registered: 11-Jul-2001 | being that you have a pretty nice sized tank, i'd say it'll be ok to house an oscar and a green terror in the same tank. they both grow to similar sizes and i'm sure they both can hold their own against each other's aggression. and as far as the green texas cichlid goes, more than likely it's a hybrid cichlid from the result of crossbreeding a green terror and a texas ciclid. |

I think you'd have a better chance at success with a dempsey than a texas to be honest. also it may help to add a few texas and keep the most mellow of them as they get bigger. ![]() the green texas is not a hybrid. it is Herichthys carpintis which will probably grow to about 10" max whereas oscars can grow up to 14-16". most reports claim the green texas (carpintis) is less aggressive than a blue texas (cyanoguttatum) so you might be ok with a carpintis and oscar. ![]() Last edited by jason_r_s at 02-Nov-2004 12:16 |
