Just wondering they are approx. the same size, i believe about the same temperment, just wondering if they are ok to keep together my tank is a 5ft 120G, Right now i have one oscar, debating a second oscar, a texas, or a dempsy as my next fish. Suggestions will be appriecated.

second Question are green texas dyed??

being that you have a pretty nice sized tank, i'd say it'll be ok to house an oscar and a green terror in the same tank. they both grow to similar sizes and i'm sure they both can hold their own against each other's aggression.

and as far as the green texas cichlid goes, more than likely it's a hybrid cichlid from the result of crossbreeding a green terror and a texas ciclid.

No, green texas are not dyed.

as for keeping a texas and oscar together...well there's no way to say for sure. it will all depend on the personality of the texas as they can be quite aggressive. your tank is big enough that it may work out but I'd keep a very close eye on the texas as it gets to around 5-6" as this should be when it reaches maturity. I think you'd have a better chance at success with a dempsey than a texas to be honest. also it may help to add a few texas and keep the most mellow of them as they get bigger.

the green texas is not a hybrid. it is Herichthys carpintis which will probably grow to about 10" max whereas oscars can grow up to 14-16". most reports claim the green texas (carpintis) is less aggressive than a blue texas (cyanoguttatum) so you might be ok with a carpintis and oscar.
