My tank is 125l which is about 33 Us gallons.
So all im wondering is how many cichlids would you guys say? Should I be looking for dwarf cichlids, if so how many of them?
Obviously i know it depends on the amount/size of holey rock but as a guess, it would be nice.
thanks ya'll
moose
x |

Holey rock usually means Rift lake fish, and depending on the dimensions of your tank (what are the dimensions?) you could go with a species tank of mbuna (say, a yellow lab harem), a Tangaynikan species tank (brichardi, say, or J. marlieri), or a Tang. community (L. ocellatus and J. transc Any particular fish you're interested in? -Molly Visit shelldwellers.com! |

Well as i said, i dont have any cichlids and consequently i have not a clue about the different kinds, all i know is i want colourful ones! Im talking these types: http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/poorfrontosa.xm http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/rusty.xm http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/fuelleborni.xm http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/hongi.xm http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/nyererei.xm Obviously these will be too big (i think!), but other than the colours i really dont mind. I just wondered about the dwarf ones as maybe i could fit more in. Are they just as nice? thanks ![]() |

Dimensions of tank are 81x36x50 (with a big black juwel filter taking up one corner!) ![]() |

That's pretty small for mbuna, but possibly (someone who's more Malawi-focused than I should chime in!) a small harem of Rusty cichlids would work, if you wanted them. Other than that, I'm afraid the ones you picked are a bit big for your tank. What you might like instead would be one or a couple of these species: [link=http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/compressed.xm [link=http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/transc [link=http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/ornatus.xm [link=http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/brichardi.xm [link=http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/lemoncichlid.xm And/or a shelldweller species, like [link=http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/ocellatus.xm [link=http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/hecqui.xm [link=http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/multi.xm -Molly Visit shelldwellers.com! |
