I have an overstocked 40 gallon tank with a good amount of plants some rock formations and about 12 different mbunas with 1 pleco. A few weeks ago, I was having problems with the dominant male killing a couple of my fish so I decided to quarentine him. He is an orange blotch cichlid that has grown to be about 3 1/2 inches, and I saw his behavior change entirely when placed in a 72 degree 10gallon with 3 black skirt tetras and such. He hardly looked at them. Well he hasn't eaten much over the past couple weeks and I decided I'd try and reintroduce him to my 40 gallon. Overtime, I have noticed the electric yellow cichlid get a little bigger, brighter, and more aggressive. Within a minute of introducing the orange cichlid, I saw him lock lips and court with the electric yellow for almost 10 mins. Now it seems as though all of my fish are actively charging at one another and swinming normally, but the yellow one is staying on one side of the tank. Anything I should be worried about here? My 40 gallon is maintained at a ph of about 8.5 with a temp of 82 degrees.
Thanks in advance,
Andrew

well with mbuna there is always going to be plenty of aggression. Observe the fighting for awhile and make sure none of them are getting hurt or being teamed up on too much. Most likely one of the fish will come up on top and things will settle down to a degree again.

What is the stock list for you tank?what kinds of mbuna? All I got was OB's and Electric Yellows.. anything else? Lots of rock work? caves for hiding is key for mbunas.

If you could get a picture of your tank it would help a great deal.
