I have a Convict Cichlid in a long 20G that a friend gave to me along w/ a Bristlenose Pleco, my question is: is there any other fish that I could house w/ them & if they r, what do u suggest?

I dont think there are any fish that I would reccomend puting with the convict. They are nasty little fish, so I would say that you might just want to stay with your current stock.

is it b/c its a 20g or b/c u don't suggest pairing convicts w/ another species regardless of the tank size.

You would beable toput a school of barbs or danios in there if you have some caves for the convict.

is your convict a male or female? females will have orange on their belly/abdomen area and they also usually have colorful finnage. you might see yellow, green, orange or blue in a female's dorsal fin and tail.

A lone convict male or female is a teddy bear fish the only time that they get aggressive is if the pair up tiger barbs would do fine with one convicts and anything mid to top water give your convict a hiding spot and it will do just fine and so will the other fish you decide to put with it

thanx guys, also it is a male about 3and half to 4 inches. I got him b/c he was the odd man out in my buddies tank as he has two males & two females & they were constantly harrasing him. I believe he is the youngest of the 3 males as he has just recently grown to his current size.
