bettachris Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3875 Kudos: 4173 Votes: 452 Registered: 13-Jun-2004 | my convict pair bred around 20 days ago and the fry are around 1.2 cm and the parents are raising them just fine. However last night i saw my female was fanning, and she had another group of eggs, around 100 of them. now what will happen with the existing babies when the eggs hatch. will the parents eat them? and is 20 days early? |

The parents will then either ignore them, or eat/kill the first batch. I would move the oldest lot to a new tank. Convicts will usually breed around once a month give or take, so 20 days sounds reasonable. Good luck |
