 | Convict/ Jewel Cichlids |
Badgers034 Hobbyist Posts: 59 Kudos: 23 Votes: 4 Registered: 15-Feb-2006   | OK, after getting a jack dempsey for my 30 gallon  I know too big of a fish for a 30g. But anyways I am going to return it to my LFS and get either a Jewel Cihhlid or a Convict. But i have some questions:1. Which out of the two will eat small feeders about 1 or 2 inches? 2. Which will be more active? 3. Which will be a better predator? 4. Will a convict be able to be alone?? or do I need a pair? |

bettachris     Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3875 Kudos: 4173 Votes: 452 Registered: 13-Jun-2004 | i like convicts, but i haven't had a jewel. but, my convicts(solo) aren't aggressive, and are friendly to the feeder, (pair) they tend to be the same, unless other fish are in the tank, than they will defend their breeding ground. i personally like convicts(just got a bag of 15 1 hour ago, so i have a couple of pairs around) and i haven't found them to be the aggressive cichlid. |
