	Convict aggression when kept alone
katieb Fish Addict Posts: 697 Votes: 69 Registered: 03-Jul-2004	How aggressive are Cons when they are the only convict in the tank? Also, what is their persona like? If i kept a convict singly, what other fish could coexist with it and what would the min. tank size be? --Katie I'll do graffiti, If you sing to me in French.

From what I've heard, they are very pugilistic, and will kill/eat smaller fish. I wouldn't try keeping them with anything smaller than themselves. If you want though, you could try keeping a pair. They are very easy fish to breed, and a pair is pretty well behaved, with little aggression towards each other. As for size, these fish reach seven or eight inches. That having been said, a 55 gallon would be perfect for a pair, though you could probably make do with 45 gallons. And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."
