You can actualy add quite a bit of other fish in that tank if your convicts are not super agressive. One of the first questions I have for you is your pair breeding or have been bread?

As for fish you can add.......
Giant Danio
Rainbows(fast swimmers)
RT and Rainbow Sharks
Tiger barbs
bigger cat fish say maybe a pictus or a feather fin
pleco

In my 55 I have with my pair of convicts...
3 gaint danios
2 rainbows
1 feather fin
1 pleco
1 rainbow shark

if the convicts are a mated pair, then you may be able to add some really quick top-dwellers like the rainbows or danios as suggested above. I wouldn't, however, add any additional bottom dwellers as this is where the convicts will be most territorial.

I just hatched around 35 babies free swimming this morning,

Congrats on your babies. You might want to try and get the algea eater out if you can with out messing with the babies. The parents might come after you in you put your hand in the tank to if they are really worked up. Good luck!! Pictures??

Do you have black or pink cons?
