	Convicts Breeding Habits!!!!!!!
Fish Guy Mega Fish Posts: 1091 Kudos: 1254 Votes: 2 Registered: 28-Jan-2004	I have a pair of comvicts which are both about 2.5 inches and they bred for the second time just 8 days ago, but the eggs got fungus i think, then 3 days after that they bred again, but the eggs got eaten i spose, and now just yesterday they have bred again. How does this happen, like around 350 eggs in a week?

Convicts are very willing breeders, and it takes very little to entice a pair to spawn. Your convicts will probably figure the game out, and you should have fry pretty soon. And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

chris1017 Fish Addict Posts: 610 Kudos: 421 Votes: 70 Registered: 09-Sep-2003	convicts are very hardy and will breed in a toilet bowl if you let them. it may take them a few spawns to get it right but when they do you will have so many fry on your hands you will not know what to do with them. chris

Fish Guy Mega Fish Posts: 1091 Kudos: 1254 Votes: 2 Registered: 28-Jan-2004	I know every thing about convicts, but i was amazed how cichlids usually breed once every 3 weeks or so, but these two have bred three times in a week, but two have been have failed and the one thats in the tank now is still there, so i dont know if its good or not?
