I had them both in a 55g (waiting on 40g to cycle), and I had just got the screen to divide them as I knew she was outgrowing him and was going to put it in when I got back today. But by the time I got home, it was to late. She ended up beating the bejesus outa him. This was not done on purpose, I knew that I would have problems, hense the divider that was going in place today. Strange thing, was that I never had any problems with these two until today. I got them both when they was about 3/4 of an inch. Never really named him, but he will be missed http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b48/monkeyboy000/fish/jd1.jpg Fish tanks are an expensive addiction |

Its been a cack week for fish deaths for a few of us , I entirely sympathise. Consider mistakes well learned and move forward I guess. |

After a while your flowerhorn will basically get used to them and leave them alone. Do try it and let me know how it goes. I think you need a bigger tank to do a community tank because flowerhorns eat a lot and poop a lot and the more fish you have, the more maintenance. If you dont have space to get larger tank, I do suggest you keep the flowerhorn solo. It would be much healthier for the water and healthier for the fish. Best Regards, Chingmixusa |

monkeyboy Fish Addict Posts: 521 Kudos: 375 Votes: 223 Registered: 10-Apr-2005 | wasnt to small at the time. they had more than enough room. and i wouldnt put more in, she'd kill them all. but thats why as i said, i was setting up my 40g to move the jack out. because i researched on how big the FH gets over time. no room for any more tanks, and i have no plans on touching my big tank until I lose all the fish, then its going to be turned into a pirhana house Fish tanks are an expensive addiction |
