My 2 and a half inch Dovii is a eating machine. I feed him pellets and krill and brine shrimp but apparantly that's not enough. I feed him until he appears full and then I place in an algae wafer for my pleco and he chews that up and eats it too! His stomach bulges and he looks sluggish for a while. Should I be concerned with him eating the algae disk? And can he be physically harmed from eating so much? I try getting him nice and full before the disk goes in but apparantly his stomach is endless!

Ummm...dovii's will pretty much eat anything and everything, so it really doesn't surprise me. My best recommendation would be to force sink the wafer by putting a tube in there and drowning the wafer until it sinks. Otherwise, he'll be okay...

PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread.

What is the best food to be feeding him? Right now I feed him cichlid pellets, krill, and brine shrimp. He's 2 1/2 inches long. I was thinking about beef heart but my LFS didn't have any last I checked. What else would be good for him?

you could try out [link=http://www.fishdigbeefheart.com]http://www.fishdigbeefheart.com" style="COLOR: #FF8080[/link]. I recently got an order from them and I'm very happy with their product. I'd get the supermix for smaller fish though, because the small, medium and large chunks were difficult for my small fish to rip apart. I had to rip it into chunks for them which I don't mind, but if they could rip it apart themselves it would save me a little trouble.
