Thanks for everyone who have helped in the past. I've got the 37.5 goin' and it's great. Limestone rocks formed into caves, good pH . . . I got rid of the Johanni and got a bristlenose pleco . . . so everything's good but ... I also got rid of the most aggressive yellow lab and added two new ones. I rearranged the rocks to try to shake up some territoriality. Anyway, one of the yellow labs (I have three) hides when I feed the tank. I'm afraid that he'll starve. Any suggestions?

How new is your Electric Yellow?

New additions may take a few days to start eating while adapting to their new surroundings. It would not be unusual for them to be very shy and hide during this acclimation period.

Other common culprits could be bullying, but if you removed you aggressors it's not likely that. Your fish could potentially be female and holding - does she (if it's a she) have a bulge under her throat? Loss of appetite could be attributed to illness, but lets not get ahead of ourselves.

How is it's behavior when you aren't in front of the tank and feeding. Does it swim out and about with the other fish or remain hidden?

One of my electric yellows stopped eating for two weeks recently, and her top fin went from black to gray. Then I noticed her start eating again and some fry swimming around. She's eating alot now, but her color hasn't returned, I suspect she is a new mom & she's recovering.

Thank you for your ideas. I think that the fish are too young to be breeding; maybe it is intimidation. This is dissapointing, as I've even taken back the hyper-aggressive Yellow that I had. The fish that's not eating is not one of the new ones.

I see the fish hang out near cover when I'm not in the room. It does not really swim around much. I hope it doesn't die.
