Hey folks,

I have a 29 gallon species only electric yellow tank. I started out with 3 adults (1 male & 2 female). One of the females died. But the other two are managing to let nature take it's course and have had two groups of fry (2 the first time and 3 the second). The first 2 fry are now about an inch long and the second group are still quite small, maybe 1/4 of an inch. I am now worried about overpopulating the tank. I know that 7 electric yellows seems way too much for a 29 gallon. What should I be planning on doing here? How big do the fry need to be before I start moving them out of the tank?

actually 6 fully grown yellows in a 29g is ok, it could work. when they reach about 2 inches you could prolly sell/donate them to your LFS.

I sell all my Mbuna fry @ 1 1/2", but you can move them whenever you want so long as the new tank has been cycled.

I wouldn't keep them all though, maybe up your stock to
1 M, 3 f. You can eitherkeep your fry till you can vent them or sell them and buy a female or two.

Good Luck
