![]() | Electric Yellow behaviour and current |
macbeth![]() ![]() Big Fish Posts: 355 Votes: 2 Registered: 20-Apr-2001 ![]() ![]() | Hi all, In my new tank setup I have 8 small Electric Yellows, active little fellows they are too. The question I have is in relation to current. All of the little fishes position themselves under the outlet arm which is pointing somewhat downward and swim in the current. I see nothing wrong with it but it made me think about the desired water movement for Electric Yellows, seeing they live in a lake with little current. What do you do as far a current goes with your cichlid tanks? |

I have had a few fish that do this as well two krib and an archer fish I think they are just doing it for fun. On the other hand they could be short of oxygen and swiming there because thats where the most o2 concentrated water is. |

I think that Lake Malawi, being as large as it is, would have some strong currents anyway? Not sure about that, but your electric yellows should be fine.
